"I would like to determine my paintings as impressionistic. The paintwork itself i like to describe as an inner need, its essential for me.To create a world where it is nice to stay in.
It is a characterized world of the recognizability of the objects in the paintings, as well as the binding way i like to see them.

A main theme in my works is the astonishment for life and objects that are surrounding me. To look at the world as a child, i always try to observe things as i see them for the first time.
This way of pue astonishment forms itself by only "watching".

Everything that is worth to paint, is worth to paint. I keep asking myself all the time: "What do i see and what do i want to see".
I look at my paintings as if it where studies, until it is finished. It is a continue search for beauty, for a esthetic moment.

Since a year i've been interested in the Japanese woodprints from the 18th century, like Hokusai and Hirosique. The interested thing about this form of art is the different view for composition, colors and the style of working. It is a different point of view then the European tradition of painting i grew up with. And its fascinates me to combine those two styles in my own paintings"
